Reception

Melanie joins us after spending 18 years as Practice manager of a dental practice in her home town of Hereford.

Her duties as practice manager are wide and varied, but essentially she ensures the smooth running of the practice. She is dually qualified in both management and as a dental nurse and so will be a central cog in the wheel that is Wood Lane Dentistry. She is there to be able to answer your questions and act as a liaison between staff, patients and clinicians. We are extremely lucky to have such a well-qualified addition to our team.

Outside of dentistry Melanie says ‘I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy reading fiction, especially crime novels and being in the great outdoors. I have also enjoyed being heavily involved in the PTA of my daughters school, helping to raise funds and bringing the school community together.’ Her partner is the deputy head of a local school and she has one daughter.

Maria has been a part of the Wood Lane team since 1998. As her role as Dental Health Educator she enjoys helping adults and children to improve where required their brushing and interdental cleaning techniques.

Maria says about her own role- Patients are so often unaware how much control they have at home on helping themselves to prevent decay and gum disease. Effective oral hygiene can be the key to a happy and healthy mouth.

A passion of mine is to go out into the community assisted living care homes and educates nurses and careers on the importance of good oral hygiene for their residents. A fun part of the job is when we as a Practice spend a day with some children from one of our local primary schools.

My Treatment coordinator role lets me meet new and existing Patients; away from a clinic environment .I can be a point of contact for all patient queries relating to treatment and payment options.

The practice recent extension has given us a separate room where we can discuss the above in a relaxed and informal manner. I will endeavor to answers any questions at the time but if I need to I can get back to the patient at a time that is suitable for them.

For all new patients we offer an appointment for a free consultation, away from the dental surgery. We can chat about all the services we offer, what appointments times suit you best, concerns about shape and color of your teeth and past dental history. The information that we gather at this appointment helps us to provide bespoke care for you all your family tailored around your individual needs.
